Treasury Secretary was Kirby, 52, is the first without either a background in financial services or a PhD in economics. He was known as the “City minister” as the government’s liaison to the finance industry based in the City of London, the capital’s banking district. One senior bank executive said, who discussed the change in roles on condition of anonymity to avoid taking sides publicly in a political personnel matter “Clearly, it’s a sign of a vote of no confidence in Kirby.” Further addition to this, he said, “Kirby is not responsible for Brexit even though it’s the biggest issue facing the City.”

It is also in news that, Kirby was being criticized quietly since November, when he was felt short to answer questions of senior finance executives upon government policy. As Britain is considered as the center of financial matters and she has dominance in Europe as well so, it wouldn’t suit to such state for having a treasury secretary incompetent enough like him.
